Dear Friends,

A great tragedy has fallen on our community, Chabad and the entire Jewish people. On Monday, an entire family has been shattered, in a split second, as they were taking a Chol HaMoed trip in a remote area of Texas.

The father and sister were killed instantly in the car accident. The two remaining family members are in stable but serious condition in the hospital.

The family is long standing involved members of the Houston Lubavitch community. Their son Peretz has traveled the globe to help others Jews. For the last few years he gave himself over in working at a camp for orphans in Yekatrinoslav, Ukraine. He has helped send scores of non-affiliated Jewish youths from the camp to Yeshivas around the world. Among other tremendous things, their daughter gave herself over to help fellow Jews at Chabad on campus in Europe.

I appeal to anyone that is reading this to say tehilim, do a mitzvah and make hachlatos for a Refua Shelaima for Peretz ben Masha and Masha bas Sonya and Leilo Nishmas Flora bas Yosef and Yosef ben Yisroel.

Everyone is urged to donate to a special fund set up to help the family - Every little bit counts: Every penny will go directly to the family to help them cope with the financial aspect of their unfortunate loss.
