(past weeks' postings)
This week went by as usual, everyone trying really hard to get
points for "just do it". It's an exciting program
where everyone does various things... IE. learn a sicha, to
get points. Points earn you your name in raffles for great prizes,
and we will be going on fun trips. The grand prize is..... a
trip to ISRAEL!!!!
On Wednesday we had a small program for Rochel Imeinu's Yartziet.
The whole school was divided into groups of 3 or 4. Each group
was then given a plate with snacks and candy. Then they were
given a paper with something about Rochel Imeinu on it. Using
the food they had to portray what was written on the paper.
Then we all went around and had to guess what they each were
it was awesome!!! [Ed. note: see the photo gallery for pictures
of these food creations!]
Some girls were placed out among the community for the Shabbos
day meal and of course Had a good time. Overall, the week was
amazing!

Welcome
Home
Everyone started piling in the dorm throughout the day, unpacking
and getting resettled in their home away from home.
Tuesday brought everyone back to reality of the life as a full-time
student at Bnos Rabbeinu. At the end of the day everybody was
back to normal, their calendars were loaded with homework, detentions,
tests and more...
Wednesday was an amazing day as normal...!!!
Thursday with a smashing "sisters" program arranged
by our "sisters" heads Sheina Weingarten and Miri Hus.
During this program we all made stunning friendship bracelets
or necklaces for our sisters.
Shabbos Bereshis found us all saying Tehillim and doing things
we wanted throughout the whole year..
Sunday we had a program that was bringing out the theme of the
month, which is....... Mivtzoyim. They broke it out by dividing
the school into 10 groups and we all had a topic we had to make
a skit about such as neshek... tzedaka... that's how we found
out the theme was Mivtzoyim!!
That's all for now come back next week to see the fun and excitement
that went on in the greatest school, Bnos Rabbeinu!

Since
the beginning of the year we've had a lot of really cool programs.
The first day of school we all piled onto a bus to go ice skating.
The theme of the year is Hands Up, and we played a really cute
game to figure it out. Tuesday in the first week of school we
had our first class of electives. We had a choice of Art (drawing
& painting), Photography and Gym. [Samples of art and
photography will be posted in the photo gallery periodically]
Shabbos is really awesome, everyone helps out, making food and
setting up. It's really nice with everyone sitting around, singing
and telling stories.
Every
2ND Friday we have grade farbrengens at Mrs. Turen's house, and
every other Motzi Shabbos we have school farbrengens in the dorm.
The 2ND week of school all the committees were put up & we
had our first Ribbit activity (Random game on the theme of the
month-Tefillah) Each group got 50 cents and 12 minutes to go around
to stores around school to find the most original stuff and connect
it with the theme.
Sunday night was our 1st chassidish Yom Tov. To get into the mood
we all made candles for the Alter Rebbe's Birthday- Shnai-Or.
Then we all sat down to a delicious candle-lit meal of chicken,
couscous, green beans and egg rolls. The we played a game to give
us all the information on what happened on Chai Elul. Later we
had a speaker, Dina Katz from New Haven, she said some really
inspiring stories and ideas.
The next morning we learned and heard a few personal Igros stories
before writing in.
Afterwards
we had an amazing brunch of bagels, lox, butternut squash soup,
noodles and cheese, vegetables and orange juice. We were then
split up into 3 groups and went to different places to do mivtzoim.
Later we had a closing Farbrengen on what we gained, how we were
inspired, and what to take out of it and bring with us. It was
a really incredible day!
Just last week to find out our sisters we had a BB-Q. Thursday
after school we all went to the park for Salad, Hot Dogs and French
Fries. We all found out our sisters and played a whole sister
Machanayim game.
Everyone is excited for the up coming Rosh Hashana, And plans
are being made.
Kasima
Vichasima Tova and have a sweet new year.

Chassidus
is life. We are all drawn to life. Innately it is imprinted in our
souls to want G-d. Even our animalistic soul does not want evil
for itself. It is not innately evil, it is natural. Yet, we turn,
we stray, denying this; we turn to other things. This change, the
change from only being able to do good to the capability to do evil
is accomplished through indulging in the permissible. Through wallowing
in our desires, permissible desires, we form a connection, a bond
to evil. Our desires in turn introduce us to their friend, pure
evil. To escape evil, it is not merely enough to stop doing bad.
We must break our desires, and expel them from are body. We should
only leave room for the good. We should form our connection with
this, with life. For this is truly, naturally us. We truly want
only G-d.
